TIMBERSCOMBE SHOW 2026

Timberscombe Annual Village Show 2026

Our show is on 15th August and the team has started preparations. Schedules will be available in due course and there is plenty of choice for all abilities. But in the meantime you can be thinking about the Photograph and Handicraft Sections.

The fiveTopics for the photo section are:- My Favourite Thing; Timberscombe Church inside or out [Black and White]; Made of Stone; On the Wing; Timberscombe 2026.

The set knitting/crochet project is a memory blanket for SANDs Charity. This charity supports bereaved families after baby loss and works to prevent future deaths through research, education, and advocacy.

The pattern is available in the Post Office or can be found on the charity’s website, which is  Knit for Sands | Sands  http://www.sands.org.uk where you can find further information about their work.

We will let you know the Limerick line soon.

Timberscombe Gardening Club. 13th April.

Good morning. A reminder that the second meeting of the Gardening Club will be held next Monday, 13th April, when James Penny will enlighten us on “Honey – 400 million years in the making”. Something to think about when you put it on your breakfast toast.

If you have not yet joined the GC we look forward to welcoming new members and old; and of course visitors and guests.

Our first outing, Court House in East Quantoxhead is on May 11th. Entrance is £7.00, which goes to the National Garden Scheme charity. Cream tea afterwards is at the Windmill – £8.00. You can sign up for this at Monday’s meeting and payment would be appreciated at that meeting.

The other event in May is our annual Cream Tea and Plant Sale – BankHoliday Monday, May 25th. Donations of plants, scones/cakes are always appreciated. Thank you.

For more information about the Club can be found on the Gardening Club page on Timberscombe Village Website.

Enjoy your garden and the current weather.

In the meantime, in February’s edition of Dunkery Tidings you can read Elisabeth’s report of the Annual Meeting and social. You can also check out the Club’s page on the Village Website where the year’s calendar has been updated. We have some good speakers and two trips in store for 2026.
