£200 Oil user rebate

If you use an alternative fuel,  such as oil , you should by now have received a £200 rebate from the government. The money will be paid in various ways  by the end of February . Some energy companies will deduct it from your electricity bills, some will pay £200 into your banks account. For pre-payment customers  a cash voucher will be sent in the post within between 20th and 28th February to top-up the key at the Post Office® It will show on your next annual statement as £200 bill adjustment

Check NOW if you have received this money.

If you do not get this payment automatically   –

You will have to apply for this payment through the AFP Alternative Fund if you do not get it automatically – for example, because you do not have a contract with an electricity supplier. Applications will open by the end of February 2023.

Fundraising by Will

pic

Will Thomas from Vicarage Court, is back and fundraising for a charity close to his heart.

This year Will is fundraising for Autism, by walking 10,000 steps each day for 8 days. He will be walking from the 26th March until World Autism acceptance day, on 2nd April. Will has chosen to raise money for Autism, after his Autism diagnosis last year. He would like to raise vital funds to help raise awareness, acceptance and to help adults and children with autism, to gain much needed help and support around the country.

Will is so grateful for the support he’s had from the Timberscombe residents and the local community, over the last couple of years. He enjoys raising money for charity’s and sends thanks to everyone who supports him, on his fund raising adventures.

He is aware that times are hard for everyone and only asks for support, if you can.

Will has been training and walking the local countryside to practice and prepare himself for the big week!

Please help Will raise viral funds for Autism, which will help children and adults, just like him. Will has raised an amazing £131 so far and would like to reach his £250 target. If he reaches his target, he will be awarded a medal for his efforts!

Please help him to reach his target.  There will be a collection pot at Timberscombe post office with a sponsor form or you can follow the link or QR code below.

Many Thanks,

Katy Thomas

Voter Authority Certificates

UK electors are now required to show an accepted form of photographic identification to receive their ballot paper(s) to cast their vote in a polling station as from May 2023 at the following polls:

UK Parliamentary general elections (from October 2023)
Recall petitions
Local elections in England (from May 2023)
Local referendums in England
Police and Crime Commissioner elections in England and Wales

Statistics show that huge numbers of older voters could be disenfranchised at local elections this May after official data has shown that only 505 people aged 75-plus have applied for free voter identification documents (known as Voter Authority Certificates) in the month since the scheme launched.

If you want to vote in the 2023 elections and you do not have any of the accepted forms of photographic ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate, specifically for the purpose of voting. Click here to find out which existing forms of photo ID will be accepted and allow you to vote.

If you don’t have any form of acceptable photo ID, click here to visit the gov.uk website, which has all the info on how to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate.
