Road Closure Advanced Notice

Temporary Road Closure: ttro259886WS – Dunster To Timberscombe Road,

The main road from Cowbridge Mill to the village green will be closed  on 1st February 2023  for 2 days between 0930 and 1500 to enable Wessex Water to carry out re-instatement works.

If you have any appointments in Minehead during this period you should ensure you leave/return outside of the closure times , or leave plenty of time for a very long detour. The official detour is via Raleghs Cross Inn.

The residents in the area were initially told that there would be no vehicular access to their properties.

Thanks to Cllr Frances Nicholson, Wessex Water have now agreed that residential access will be maintained throughout the works, and road plates will be available. Any heavy vehicles that require access will be included in this, and will not be expected to travel via Dunster. You should, however, allow extra time for any journey as works may need to be moved to allow you to exit/enter. Wessex have now also agreed to work between 0930-1500, which should alleviate any concerns regarding school transport.

Finally, the concerns regarding parking restrictions have also been lifted and parking is only banned where the reinstatement is taking place, ie on the A396.

For any further information about this closure please contact Wessex Water on 0345 600 6400, quoting reference: ttro259886WS

Please note that should you require to view a closure which is more than two weeks ahead, you will need to register for free with www.One.Network
