Please be aware of a new scam email advising that you are entitled to a tax refund (rebate) of £128.34. The email states that this is a precautionary measure in cooperation with National Insurance and National Health Services, It is NOT. It goes on to suggest the funds can help protect yourself against COVID-19 and to access the funds now by clicking on the blue hyperlink, Please DO NOT do this.

North Wales Police (NWP) have advised this has already cost the public more than £800,000 in a month and to contact Action Fraud for advice on: 0300 123 2040

The Ellsworth Foundation is a charity for the promotion of education, including social and physical education of beneficiaries, firstly being the Foundation Schools, those being Cutcombe Church of England Voluntary Aided First School and Timberscombe Church of England Voluntary Aided First School, and secondly, to beneficiaries resident in the parishes of Timberscombe and Cutcombe.

The Board of Trustees are looking for looking for an additional Trustee to join the board from Timberscombe community and one from Cutcombe community. The Trustees meet usually twice per year to review the finances and allocate funds depending on grant requests.

Just to remind you that summer is just around the corner (honestly!) and soon it will be the Timberscombe Show 2020 which is on Saturday, 15^th August.

This year we are supporting the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth by knitting donkeys from a pattern supplied by them . These are available from Timberscombe Post Office.

For photographers, this years’ classes are titled:

1. Village Life
2. Didn’t we have a luverly time…..? (with caption)
3. Exmoor Bridges
4. Insects
5. Boats (Black and white)

As usual, photographs should be coloured, unless specified, and no larger than 125 x 180 mm (5 x 7 ins) including mount, if used.

Also, new this year, there will be a novice class for budding handicrafters. The class is open to any type of handicraft so please get thinking about what you can put in.

Somerset: Telephone Scams

There have been a significant number of telephone scams of late, a lot of us will have received the automated message saying your subscription is due for renewal “Please press Option 1”.

These are scam phone calls and companies such as Amazon will never call a customer outside of their website. If it does not feel right just hang up, you can always call back.
