Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Minehead To Williton Road, Williton for approximately 740 metres, which will commence on 4th June 2025 and is expected to last until 8th June 2025 (between 19:00 to 05.00hrs). These works are for Kiely Bros to carry out prep works, surface dressing and associated works on behalf of Somerset Highways, their works reference is LG018-SD007683-STUDS-01.

These phased works will be for ONE DAY within the stated period and the road will be reopened when no works are taking place (in some instances works may be completed in a matter of hours). Signage will be placed on site. There may be a need for additional closures at a later date and notification will be sent for these.

We’re joining forces across the country in supporting the National Police Chiefs’ Council’s (NPCC) 2-Wheel Operation, running from 2–15 June, aimed at reducing the number of motorcyclists, cyclists and e-scooter users killed or seriously injured on our roads.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to produce a Benefice Bulletin this month, but in July we have a willing volunteer who will be issuing it! Hooray!!Meantime, if there are any further notices I need to publicise, please let me know ASAP and I’ll circulate in an email in the next few days.

The works are expected to commence on 9th June 2025 and last for 19 days (07:00 – 19:00) to enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways. Solid diamond symbolization to be used on diversion route and will not clash with any other Kiely Bros works within the area. 

The contractor has indicated that access for Emergency Services through the site is permitted on this occasion.
