St Petrock’s Festival – diary date

The newly created wall hanging for the church, made by our own very talented villagers, will be unveiled on Saturday 1st June in St Petrock’s Church. This is the product of a fabulous co-operation between a group of people who have worked hard to produce a unique hanging which reflects the interests and creative diversity of our local community. Do come along and see it, close up, between 11am and 4pm. Volunteers will be on hand to describe the detail of the wall hanging for one day before it is set up in a permanent position behind the altar.

In the church field between 1pm and 3pm there will be a barbeque and a paid bar, and family entertainments, so do please come along. Traditionally there would be a village festival to celebrate St Petrock on the first weekend in June, so this is our opportunity to revive an ancient custom.

SPRING FAIR HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL IN AID OF CHURCH FUNDS

The PCC would like to thank everyone who attended our Spring Fair on Saturday. It was a wonderful event and we raised just over £600.

The hall looked very welcoming with pretty tablecloths and bright spring flowers on each table.

We had three types of raffles and there was great anticipation as to who had won the £50 note! There was, as usual, an amazing selection of homemade cakes and savouries to take home or eat with your tea or coffee. Many bargains were found on the bric a brac stall and the homemade cake was passed around with much discussion on how heavy it was. A difficult quiz kept everyone busy while they enjoyed their refreshments.

We had craft stalls selling different types of beautifully made items.

Thank you again for all your help, donations and attendance at our Spring Fair.
