St Petrock’s History Group

Timberscombe History Group now has a dedicated accessible website at St Petrock’s History Group which shows hundreds of historical pictures of Timberscombe and its residents with a wealth of background research. The site is searchable and each week will highlight a featured item of interest. Our thanks go to the many people who have generously donated images and information to the website, reflecting the life and times of a small Exmoor village. The information already provides a unique insight into rural life that might otherwise have been lost. We hope you enjoy it!

Carol Service – St Petrock’s Church

The Traditional Christmas Carol Service will take place as planned at St Petrock’s Church this Sunday 19th at 3pm. All are welcome and to enjoy refreshments afterwards.

In light of the current coronavirus situation it is essential for everyone attending to wear a face mask or covering (unless exempt) which we kindly ask you to wear even whilst singing carols.

We will ensure that the church is as well ventilated as possible and ask you to please sanitise your hands on arrival.

We thank you for your co-operation and look forward to seeing you there. If you feel unwell or are experiencing any of the known covid symptoms, we respectfully ask you not to attend.

Please vote for St Petrock’s Church

PLEASE enter this free competition run by Ecclesiastical Insurance where from 6th -21st December, 10 charities will be picked at random from email entries received to award £1000 every day.  This can really help St Petrock’s where there is a list of works we need to undertake at the church which require more funds than we have. Our next project is to replace the badly deteriorated pathways and make the church and churchyard more accessible to all visitors. You may only enter once so the sooner the better, and it rolls over to the next day for random selection.  The draw will start soon!

All you have to do is visit https://www.movementforgood.com/12days/ As soon as you visit the website click Nominate a charity now and then tick the registration exempt box. Then enter the charity name Timberscombe Parochial Church Council – St Petrock’s and select charity type – church.

The more nominations we get, the greater the chance that we will be selected and receive a £1000 donation!

PLEASE forward this to as many people as you can who might be willing to enter as well.

St Petrock’s Church has won in this competition before so we know it really can work for us and winning would really boost our fundraising.

Thank you for reading this and I hope you will be willing to support us in this very simple way.
