We’re appealing for information after a deliberate fire caused significant damage to a barn in Wiveliscombe.

The incident happened at a farm off Taunton Road, sometime between midnight and 12.15am on Sunday 17 March.

The damage to the barn and its contents is estimated at around £100,000.

If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in this area around the time, or have information on who may be responsible, then please call us on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5224068762.

Spring Coffee and Craft Morning

This coffee morning with delicious cakes to buy and with local crafting talent showing their wares is taking place on the morning of Saturday 13th April in the Village Hall. Do come along and enjoy refreshments, our raffles and quiz, childrens’ craft making and other temptations. It’s all in a good cause, to support our village church and keep it open, safe and welcoming to everybody. We hope to see you there!

ps If you have any goodies to offer for the raffle, bottles for the tombola, or home-made cakes for our ever-popular cake stall, please do bring them to the church on Friday afternoon before 5pm, or direct to the Village Hall on Saturday morning before 10am. Wootton Road Closure

New Road in Wootton Courtenay will be closed from 9.30am – 4.30pm on Monday 8th April, from a point 60 metres north of the junction with Huntscott Road, to the turning for Wootton Knowle Farm. This is to allow Open Reach to renew a pole.
