Your nomination REALLY counts

£1,000 could make a big difference to the work the PCC does to support St Petrock’s Church, and provide an accessible toilet and servery which will be available every day of the year to those who come to worship as well as all those who live locally or visit our community for holiday and heritage purposes on Exmoor.

That’s why we’d be really grateful if you could nominate us in the Ecclesiastical Movement for Good awards. Your nomination could be the one that wins us £1,000. In total, 500 charities stand to gain £1,000 and we’d love to be one of them.

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is fundraising to pay for the installation of a toilet to provide a basic amenity in a small rural village without any other publicly available facility. The church building provides a wide range of social and community activities, so it is essential that this improvement is made. The lack of a basic facility is what can prevent many people, whether attending festivals or services, school children, family groups, community events or tourists, from making the most of a beautiful Grade 1 Listed building.

The PCC has worked hard to raise £25,000 out of the £46,000 needed to install the toilet, bring in a water supply, install baby changing facilities, and a small accessible servery which will enable the continued growth of a wide variety of community activities.

A grant of £1,000 will help significantly towards reaching our target and starting the work which has been approved by the Diocese of Bath and Wells, Exmoor National Park, Historic England and others to achieve a sympathetic and modern improvement to benefit all who live in and visit Timberscombe.

It’s quick and easy to nominate us. Just visit click ‘nominate now’ and enter our details. Please note that you do not enter a charity number as PCCs are exempt. Instead, please tick Registration exempt. The closing date for nominations is Friday 17 May 2019.

The more nominations we get, the greater our chance of winning, so please spread the word to your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your time and support.
