Celebration Tea Party

A really well attended tea took place on Tuesday 11th February in Timberscombe Village Hall to salute all those who have supported the fundraising and all the volunteer-based heritage activities in the village over the last two and a half years. There is a real sense of achievement now that the church roof is repaired and restored so that the church is now fully watertight. The new boiler means that we can be warm and fuel efficient for all planned events. Our electrical system has been renewed and extended to a high standard and in preparedeness for the new facilities which will be built into the church in the coming months.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund supported the village to conduct heritage activities which have been ongoing and enjoyed by the participants. The oral history project and the cook book are especially noteworthy in reaching out to many members of the community but there have been other initiatives as well which have embraced the talents and interests of our village, developed new and diverse skills, and created opportunities for lots of friendly co-operation.

A Report on our village activities needs to be sent to the NLHF over the next few weeks and any comments or feedback you may wish to make are particularly valuable and sought. Please give your comments to any member of the PCC and they will be incorporated with the Evaluation Report. Thank you to everyone who left comments at the tea party as these are extremely useful.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our activities whether as a volunteer or through financial donations. None of this could have happened without your cooperation and generosity.

Well done everyone!
