Stay Home – Get Prescriptions

Several people have reported problems with the processing of their prescription.

The Dunster Surgery will deliver prescriptions to Timberscombe Post Office for you to collect.

Alternatively, most chemists have a FREE delivery service for NHS prescriptions  – just call your chemist to sign up.

If you are still having difficulties there are several online prescription services such as Echo  who process Lloyds Pharmacy prescriptions, pharmacy2u or the Boots online service (other chemists are available).

All of these will deliver NHS prescriptions directly to your door FREE of charge via the mail. If you pay for your prescription you can do this online but delivery is still FREE.

If your medication needs to be kept chilled echo and pharmacy2u send all chilled (or cold-chain) medication via 24 hour tracked post in a special wool packaging designed to keep the medication cold.

All of the above sites state that due to Covid -19 increasing demand there will be delays in processing new customers, but I used echo recently for the first time and the medication arrived in just a few days – quicker than getting it from my GP!!

The process was impressive with an email acknowledgement of my order, an email to ask me to pay for the prescription, an email to tell me it had been collated and was ready for postage and one to say it had been dispatched.
