O P E R A T I O N    O C E L O T

My name is Will, I am 13 years old and I have accepted the Operation Ocelot challenge to raise enough money to save an area of rainforest the same size as our Play Park in Timberscombe.

Myself and my two sisters have measured Timberscombe Play Park and discovered that it is 40 metres by 40 metres.

By putting these dimensions into the Operation Ocelot calculator on the world land trust (WLT) website, I have found out that the amount needed to save an equivalent area of rainforest in Guatemala is £220.80.

I have always had a huge interest in animals, wildlife and conservation and it is my dream to work in this area when I am older, so this challenge is very close to my heart.

On Saturday 27th November 2021, I am going to walk around Wimbleball Lake. I find walking long distances difficult, so walking 9 miles in one go is going to be a huge challenge for me, but I know I can do it! If I manage to raise more than my target, then it will be a larger area of rainforest that will be saved.

Please sponsor me and help me save an area of rainforest the same size as Timberscombe play park! 💚 I am half way to meeting my target and I need your help! Please follow the link below for more information and to donate. Thank you. William Thomas – Vicarage Court.

Regal Theatre Update

Regal Theatre

As 2021 draws to a close the Regal Theatre Minehead offers a vibrant programme of theatre, film, concerts, gallery tours and more to entertain and cheer as the evenings draw in.

On Tuesday 30th November we have the next of our amazing ‘virtual’ international art exhibitions from Exhibitions on Screen, The Danish Collector: Delacroix To Gauguin.

The tempo changes on Thursday 2nd December with screening of the fabulous musical Anything Goes, a heart-warming romance spectacular, featuring dance routines and some of theatre’s most memorable songs.

The Regal then welcomes the newly-formed the Chamber Orchestra of the West on Saturday December 4th; led by renowned violinist and Somerset resident Jacqueline Shave, favourite pieces by Corelli, Mozart and Bach are interspersed by less familiar selections.

On December 5th we show Christmas with André – screening of André Rieu’s inaugural Christmas concert – a festive treat for the whole family.

The Pantaloons, a vibrant and sometimes anarchic theatre group, present Humbugged, on Wednesday 8th December – a new adventure that’s part seasonal sequel and part a supernatural time-travel heist!
