ONLINE HEALTH & WELLBEING SERVICES

Due to the current unsettling circumstances I wanted to let everyone know that there is help at hand online for you in the comfort of your home.

A lot of people are feeling very anxious and stressed about the situation, the restrictions and mostly about the unknown. Its so important we stay well in mind, body and spirit at the best of times but particularly now. Our physical health is very closely linked to our mental wellbeing and we all need to find ways to steady and balance the effects of the current situation.

Negativity can breed dis-ease and so positive thoughts and actions can be like a medicine for us. There is much I can do to help you to help yourself!

Some of the wellbeing services available online:

  • A Guided Relaxation10 minute mindful visualisation to reduce anxiety, stress and for having some peaceful time out. This service can be by phone or via the computer. Cost £5 per session.

  • MINDFUL WELLBEING COACHING – Practical health enhancing coping techniques, guided relaxation exercises, information and wellbeing guidance. Costs30 mins – £3060 mins£45
  • EXERCISE – Tai Chi / Shibashi Instruction Cost = 30 mins – £15
  • EXERCISE- Movement for Health Instruction (gentle chair & standing exercises) Cost = 30 mins – £15
  • A MEDITATION TEACHING PRACTICE As a registered meditation teacher and a meditator of 17 years, I have been trained to teach you a practical meditation practice that is incredibly valuable to help strengthen yourselves from the inside out.  Meditation has been scientifically proven to help our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing; g. lower blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, improve sleep, help with the feel good hormones, boost our immune system, and help our general health & wellbeing. It also can help improve focus, concentration, inner resilience, creative thought and very importantly, lift our spirits! COSTS=60 mins = £48.00 per person Couple teaching (reduced price). This is not a guided relaxation session, you are taught a practice that you can use on your own (I just wouldn’t be without mine)!

Please feel free to contact me and ask any question.

Wishing you wellness.

Waste Services Updates

Personal waste, should be stored securely in disposable rubbish bags. These should then be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste within your home. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual rubbish outside your house, which will be collected as part of the usual fortnightly collections.

Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.

Service updates

We are working hard with our contractors and partners, but the Coronavirus will unfortunately have an impact on services as staffing levels are affected. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  • Suspended – requests for bins, recycling boxes and food waste caddies. Teams will try to deliver those already ordered, but no new requests will be accepted for the time being.
  • Suspended – Bulky waste collections that involve going inside properties. Standard bulky waste collection service continues at present.
  • Paused – Slim My Waste, Feed My Face campaign has been paused. This is so support staff are available for priority work. A decision on delivering the campaign to the remaining areas of Sedgemoor and West Somerset will be taken at a later date.
  • Staff at recycling centres will no longer be able to help people remove waste from their vehicles – this is in light of the Government guidance around social distancing. Please bear this in mind when using the centres. Each site has allocated a drop-off area for bulky items which members of the public may use if they feel unable to deposit these in recycling bins.

Information on Coronavirus from ENP

Dear all,

Our National Parks exist as places for everyone to find peace in beauty, gain spiritual refreshment, and reconnect with nature.

Covid-19 has developed into a global pandemic and we recognise that not everyone will be able to access these special places in the weeks and months to come.

We want to reassure everyone that this special place continues to be well cared for by our passionate team of staff, who are working under very difficult circumstances to keep key functions up and running – such as our Ranger and Planning services.

We hope thoughts of Exmoor will provide some comfort at this difficult time and look forward to welcoming you here when circumstances allow.

All our teams have now been asked to work from home. This includes staff at our National Park Centres, who as always will be happy to answer your queries about Exmoor via telephone and email. We apologise if this means things don’t run as smoothly and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Your health and safety while enjoying the National Park is of utmost importance to us. Unfortunately, this has meant we and others having to cancel events. This and the reduced number of visitors will inevitably be a major blow to our rural businesses, who can find bespoke help and advice here.

Despite all the challenges that this pandemic brings, it also forces us to re-evaluate what really matters. Over the next few months let’s hold our loved ones dear and make the safety of our families and communities the number one priority.

Everyone can help support the UK’s response by:

1.  Relying on information from trusted sources, such as www.nhs.uk/coronavirus and www.gov.uk/coronavirus, and checking frequently for the latest advice.

2.  Using NHS 111, pharmacies and GPs responsibly, and only going to hospital if you really need to. See: When to go to A&E

3.  Offering support to elderly or vulnerable family, friends and neighbours and, if you or a member of your family has a new continuous cough or high temperature, staying at home for 14 days.

Yours Sincerely,

Sarah Bryan
