Village Hall Events

In the light of the recent advice regarding coronavirus if you wish to cancel any of your events in the village hall please could you let me know.

There will be no charge for cancelled bookings.

History Talk Postponed

Dear All – Given the current uncertain circumstances about coronavirus I think it is prudent to postpone our history meeting tomorrow evening. I have spoken to our Lecturer, Phil Gannon, and he is quite in agreement. We will re-arrange a mutually convenient date which I will circulate as soon as is possible.

I am sorry not to see members who were intending to be there tomorrow.

Minehead Literary Festival 2020 -Saturday & Sunday, 25th & 26th April

Minehead Literary Festival returns for a second year with a fabulous line-up of speakers, led by Dame Margaret Drabble.  Other special attractions include

  • A no-charge session for children on Saturday morning, 30-11.15am, in the Methodist Church Hall, led by popular children’s author Sam Angus.  The session is free to children and accompanying adults, but registering in advance is essential; call 01643 703921 or email info@mineheadliteraryfestival.org
  • A Creative Workshop, run by published author Hazel Prior on Saturday afternoon, 2.45-4.15p.m. in the Methodist Church Hall, on writing fiction and getting published.  Tickets at £10/£12, are limited and booking essential – see mineheadliteraryfestival.org/tickets or call 01643 703921
  • Fringe event organised by local creative writing group Café Write, Sunday 10:30a.m.-12:30p.m, in the Old Hospital. Writers Helen Baggott and Clare Donoghue will talk about getting published, especially self and virtual publication.
