New radio slot for Venetia Moore

Venetia Moore has a new radio slot at West Somerset Radio, ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ starting this week!  Every Wednesday at 1.30pm she will be sharing some information on different health and wellbeing topics; talking everyone through a mindful guided relaxation, and giving out notices on any wellbeing events, activities and workshops happening in this area. Some weeks she will be interviewing other wellbeing practitioners and instructors. The main focus is that every Wednesday people know they can tune in, take five, and have what she calls a ‘Power Break’ together! She is aiming to promote holistic health and wellbeing by raising awareness on ways we can help ourselves to be healthier, and know where to go to be helped.

It’s a short slot, probably no longer than 10 mins so it is practical amount of time for everyone to take some ‘time out’!

THE TIMBERSCOMBE VILLAGE EMAIL SYSTEM IS CHANGING.

The old village email group and the new “followers” from timberscombevillage.com have now been merged. In future everyone will receive the same news updates directly from the website. The new email system will be run through Mailchimp, which is fully GDPR compliant and subscribers can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of each email. Anyone wishing to join the village email service can do so via the website.

If you appear not to be receiving the e mails check your spam box and if necessary add contact@timberscombevillage.com to your address book mark or the e mails as “not spam”.

I would like to thank Bill Hodgson of www.woottonwebsites.com for his help in developing this new service.

I hope that you have all taken the opportunity to view the new Timberscombe website at www.timberscombevillage.com which gives details about events, contacts, organisations, businesses, etc. in the village. The site has expanded rapidly so if you haven’t checked it out for a few weeks, why not take another look?

I am still keen to hear from you.

There are still two organisations in the village who haven’t taken advantage of a free web page to advertise their group.

The history section has lots of information but there is still lots more to add. So why not write an article for the site?

If you have an event coming up, please send it to me so it can go on to the village calendar.

If you own a local business, why not advertise it on our business page?

If you have any other comments about the website, please let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Lesley Webb

Village Cook Book

Huge apologies to anyone who has been trying to send in recipes etc for the cookery book to the email address given out. It should read: marion@j-mail.org. We should love to still hear from anyone with favourite recipes along with a line or two about why they are special to you. The cookery book is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund so we should like to do Timberscombe proud with the finished product
