Did you know that plastic pots, tubs and trays – including black plastic – can now be recycled at the Minehead Recycling Centre?

Summer opening times start on 1st April 2019. The Minehead site will be open:

9am to 6pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

9am – 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Closed all day Tuesday.

The first-ever Minehead Literary Festival will be taking place on Saturday 27th April at the Methodist Hall, Minehead, with an impressive line up of four leading writers with ties to the area who will explore the importance of place in their writing.  The Festival is also complemented by a short story writing competition and an art exhibition, with all details at http://www.mineheadliteraryfestival.org;  we’d also like to alert people to the Early Bird discount for the Festival Day, open until 15th March.

The Lion Inn holds a monthly quiz the first Wednesday evening of every month.  Teams of max 6 people. Best to book a table, especially if your wanting to eat beforehand. 
The next quiz on weds 6th March at 8pm.
