Warm Welcome
Thursday 16th March between 10am and 12 noon is the next in our series of Warm Welcomes in St Petrock’s Church. Everybody is very welcome to come along and meet up for some hot drinks and enjoy refreshments and meet other villagers. There is no charge and we will be delighted to see you there.
History Group
A reminder that the St Petrock’s History Group will meet next on Monday 20th March at 7pm in St Petrock’s Church. Our talk will be given by Derrick Edwards and is based on the Monmouth rebellion which led to the Battle of Sedgemoor, a fascinating period in English history and which took place in the County of Somerset. All are welcome – Members £1 and Visitors £4. Refreshments available.
Memories of Ange Rush
Ange and her husband Owen moved to Timberscombe in 2004 and quickly got involved with village life. Ange took part in the village show and on many occasions won Best in Show with her wonderful needlework. She was also a fabulous cook and added Best Cookery and Most Points in Cookery to her achievements.
Ange joined the newly formed church Bell Ringers in 2009, where we all learnt to ring together. She was a member of the Short Mat Bowls Club and acted as treasurer for many years. Ange also enjoyed trips out to gardens as a member of the Gardening Club.
She was always willing to get involved and frequently helped the church with food at functions, until her unfortunate illness in 2016. She made wonderful scones, cakes, quiches, desserts and salads to help raise valuable funds for St Petrock’s Church.
Ange will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
