Counterfeit warning

We’ve received reports from areas including Weston-super-Mare, Bath and Bristol, where items including laptops, game consoles and mobile phones have been advertised for sale on Facebook Marketplace and upon collection of the item, the buyer pays, often hundreds of pounds, with counterfeit currency which is sadly worthless.

Please see the attached for more information.

Rural Crime

In an effort to make it easier for the public to report rural and wildlife crime, we are excited to announce the launch of our new online reporting form.

This initiative is designed to streamline the process of reporting crime, making it more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly for everyone.

The new forms provide clear guidance on which type of crime to report and the appropriate form to use.

Please see the attached for more information.

Can you help?

The Parish Council now has a Speed Indicator Device, which will alternate between the main road near Duddings and opposite the Old Dairy. In order to install the device we must have a person with  a Lantra  “Moving Works Operative” qualification. Unfortunately, the councillor who was going to do the training on 28th April at Rooksbridge is unable to go for personal reasons.

This is just a shout out on the off chance that somebody in the village may already have an up to date qualification, or be willing to go on the course (all expenses paid by the Parish Council).

If you are able/willing to help please reply to this email.

Thank you

Lesley Webb (Parish Clerk)

Churchyard Clearing

For anyone able to give a hand with maintaining our lovely village churchyard we meet as usual this Saturday, 5th April, (always the first Saturday of the month), between 10am and 12 noon. Any time you can give to help is really appreciated, simply bring gardening gloves, any tools you need, and we meet and decide on the most important needs of the day. It’s a very friendly and peaceful morning when you can work in solitary or in small groups and we can together achieve a lot in a short space of time. You don’t need to worry about the garden waste as we dispose of that afterwards. Thank you to all who help, whenever they can. Marion and Kate.
