This evening ( Thursday 6th June) at 6.30pm as many towers as possible across the nation will ring ‘for peace’ on the 80th anniversary of D Day. 6th June 1944 was a momentous day playing a significant step towards freedom in Europe. It is right that we remember those many thousands who made the supreme sacrifice on that day. They gave their all, not for war, but for peace. On  this 80th anniversary, we in Timberscombe, will ring  to speak out for the peace that our world so badly needs, the peace that so many gave their lives that we might enjoy.
