Timberscombe Welcomes Young Talent to the Village’s Annual Show

On Saturday 17th August there were many stars and lots of sunflowers at Timberscombe, courtesy of Timberscombe 1st School’s European Art Curriculum Course Work, featuring Van Gough’s Sunflowers and Starry Nights and Monet’s Houses of Parliament, which graced the walls of the Village Hall at the Annual Village Show. We are very grateful to the young artists for sharing their work and thank the school staff who support and encourage them. Their work was appreciated by the villagers and friends who came to the show.

There were many old faces and many new folk who entered the variety of classes and the show also welcomed new visitors to inspect the produce, flowers, cookery, art and craft.

The organisers have always encouraged people to enter, regardless of their ability. Entries included exhibits from the very experienced to the raw novices. The standard was very high and the competition congenial and friendly.

It was an informal occasion and the usual convivial atmosphere was enjoyed by all. The afternoon was rounded off by the lively auction of produce.

Thanks are extended to all the judges who give up their valuable time to keep village shows going; to the stewards and all the team for organising and helping at the event.
