Please be aware that we have received a report from Watchet, West Somerset, about QR stickers on the parking ticket machines that are fraudulently charging people £50 for parking when they put the details in, to what they believe to be paying for parking.
Attached is a picture of this sticker that they put over the official QR code on the machine, currently it is only known that this has taken place in Watchet, however it is likely this is also on other machines in the area.
We advise people NOT to scan the codes and to check if there is a small sticker on top of the usual PaybyPhone sticker by picking at the edge if it appears raised.
