This is a scheme to support homeowners, private and social tenants in the Sedgemoor, Taunton Deane and West Somerset areas to become landlords and let out their spare bedrooms to earn additional income. The project itself is run by Hinkley Point and receives council funding.  It is designed to reduce homelessness, to keep people in their homes and to make ends meet.

The project’s aim is to ensure that lodgings are created safely and managed professionally, through monitoring, interim inspections, offering support/guidance and with the help of grant-funding of up to £1,000 to assist, if necessary.

This morning a sturdy hammer (in decent shape) was found lying on the side of the road which goes up the hill past the churchyard and Methodist chapel. If it is your please let me know as the finder would like to return it.

School admissions arrangements for children who are due to start or transfer school for the 2020-21 school year, and those moving schools during the 2020-21 school year will be consulted on for a period of 6 weeks ending 31 January 2019.

This consultation applies to a number of schools and academies throughout Somerset.

This consultation period allows parents, other schools, religious authorities and the local community to raise any comments or concerns about proposed admission arrangements.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
Church Street, Timberscombe

I am writing to inform you that Somerset County Council as the Highway Authority have received an application for the temporary closure of Church Street from Utility Services Ltd.

This road will be closed from 18th December 2018 and is expected to last for 1 day to enable BT Openreach to change a pole.Every effort will be made to keep the duration of this closure to a minimum to reduce any further disruption.
