BOUGHAM BASH – SATURDAY 13TH JULY

The gardens at Bougham look absolutely beautiful and this is the perfect time of year to be holding the Bougham Bash. There will be delicious food, a licensed bar, raffles, a quiz, tombola and entertainments. We would love your support by buying tickets in advance of the day for £10 with children under 5 free of charge. Tickets will be £12 on the day. Do join us in for an enjoyable village celebration where all the proceeds will go to help pay for some essential remedial work to our church tower. A very good cause! As the Post Office is closed for a week, tickets can of course also be purchased from The Lion Inn (after 5pm), St Petrock’s on a Thursday or a Sunday morning, and from Kate Hart (841745) and Marion Jeffrey (841500). We will see you there!

do you like gardening?

If so, would you be willing to help us maintain our lovely but large churchyard? This Saturday between 10am and 12 noon, do please come to St Petrock’s and help with other kind volunteers. We are setting up a regular first-saturday- morning- of- the- month group to help make the best of this wonderful asset in the community.

St. Petrock’s Churchyard

We would love some help in the churchyard, to weed the roses, sweep and weed the paths and strip the ivy off some of the gravestones. To this end we will be meeting on the first Saturday of each month (commencing on 6th July) from 10.00 am.If you can spare the time to help please come along, bringing any gardening tools you may have, plus gardening gloves, and we shall be most pleased and grateful to see you.  If you can only spend half an hour or so you will still be most welcome, someone will be there until about
12.00 pm each session. Please give me a ring on 841490 if you would like to have a chat about it, or just turn up on the day.  Thank you – Jenny Gratton

Holy Communion

On Thursday 20th June at 2.30pm at St Petrock’s Church there will be a special school service of Holy Communion. At this service four children from Class Two will be admitted to Holy Communion. This will be the first time they have received Holy Communion and it marks an important moment on their journey of faith. All are welcome to come along and support them at this special service. Refreshments will be provided after the service.
