Saturday 1st June 11am – 4pm
You are warmly invited to join in our community celebration this Saturday when the new wall hanging created by our own talented villagers will be on display in St Petrock’s Church between 11am – 4pm. Volunteers will be on hand to describe the process and skills involved. Booklets will be available to show the range of talents and interests of those who participated. There will also be a photographic exhibition and refreshments on sale in the church.
On Sunday at 11am a special service will see the wall hanging installed in its permanent position. Do come along to that – music, poetry and readings all relevant to our celebration of St Petrock – our patronal saint in Timberscombe.
Follow the sign from the church to the nearby Church Field where there will be a BBQ between 1pm – 3pm and bar, live music and entertainments. Donations for our tombola would be appreciated, to appeal to children and adults. Please leave in the church on Friday afternoon. We hope the weather will be good and look forward to seeing you there. All monies raised support the fabric and running of the church as a village asset. Thank you.
TIMBERSCOMBE CELEBRATION – do join us! in and around st petrock’s church

Cowbridge Mill – History Group
This meeting was planned some time ago and will still take place, with the blessing of the late Owen Rush’s family. Do join us for a special evening to consider and reflect on the history of Cowbridge Mill and the achievements made under Owen’s guidance.

Grabbist Benefice Evening Praise
Benefice Evening Praise Sunday 30 June at 6pm, St George’s Church, Dunster
For the first Benefice Service of this year, we hope to fill Dunster’s wonderful church with as many friends as possible from all the Benefice churches, and to, in Keith’s words, shake the church’s ancient fabrIc with the glory of many voices accompanied by the organ.
We want to invite each parish to choose one favourite hymn and one reserve (in case of duplication – we want each parish to have one named hymn). Please let any of the benefice clergy know (Nicola, Nicola, Margaret or Kenneth) so that we can put together the order of service.
It is our hope, in addition to have enough experienced singers in all four parts (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) to prepare two short anthems (Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by J.S.Bach and With a voice of Singing by Martin Shaw). Organist Keith Jones will rehearse this joint choir, and rehearsals (over within the hour) will be held in St. Michael’s Church Alcombe on the following days:
Sunday May 19th at 4 pm.
Sunday June 23rd at 4 pm
Friday June 29th at 4 pm
On Sunday June 30th, the day of the Service there will be an obviously important rehearsal in St.George’s Church at 5 pm, immediately before Benefice Praise.
Those experienced singers wishing to sing in the choir are asked to let Keith Jones know by e-mail a.s.a.p. Indicating whether they are S, A, T or B, and their availability for the rehearsals at ksenoj40@gmail.com
please come along to this lovely service and meet others in the Grabbist Hill Benefice!
Many thanks – Rev Kenneth Cross
