In celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II a celebratory peal was rung in St Petrock’s, a video of which is now available here.
Last weekend we saw the Coronation of King Charles III and as part of that celebration, our bellringers rang a special peal on Coronation Day, Saturday 6th May. Left to right : Elisabeth Powls (Tower Captain), Martin Booth, Gwynnie Poole, David Butt, Pauline Bennett , Allan Sutton and Kate Hart. We thank them all.

This Sunday, 14th May at 11am, we will particularly recognise Bell Ringing as a celebratory part of our service at St Petrock’s Church. St Dunstan is known as the Patron Saint of Bellringers due to his experimentation in the early forging of bells in the 900’s, and for this reason the nearest Sunday to his feast day (19th May) has been chosen to introduce Bell Sunday; a day where the contribution of bells and Bellringers to the life of the Church in our village is recognised.
A special service has been designed which includes poetry, handbell ringing and a short history of the Timberscombe bells. Everybody is most welcome to come along and enjoy the celebration and refreshments afterwards.

The church bells will be rung on Saturday morning to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. We shall be ringing from 9.30am to 10.00am.

As part of our village celebrations to mark the Coronation of King Charles III you are warmly invited to join in a special Songs of Praise in St Petrock’s Church on Sunday 7th May at 11.00am. There will be a selection of poems and readings fitting for the day, along with hymns which will be well known to us all. Refreshments will be served afterwards. There is no charge, although donations are always welcome. This will mark the start of a day of local Timberscombe celebrations. Do please join us!
