From this Thursday 5th January, the Warm Welcome resumes in our village church. All are so welcome to join us between 10am – 12 noon every Thursday in school term time. This means every Thursday in January, and Thursday 2nd and Thursday 9th February which will take us up to half term.

We are happy to offer a warm venue, with lots of hot drinks and an assortment of mostly home baked, but some bought cakes and biscuits, good conversation and a great opportunity to meet other people in the village. Some people have brought their crafts and hobbies to work on whilst they are chatting, but that is not a requirement!

Do give this a try and enjoy some community spirit in a beautiful building – it belongs to you!

The next meeting of the History Group will take place on Monday 16th January at 7pm in St Petrock’s Church. The subject of the talk will be the artist John Arthur Mease Lomas who resided in Timberscombe for the latter part of his life. Jeff Cox has thoroughly researched his life and work and will present what he knows to the Group. All are welcome, members will be renewing their annual subscription at this meeting but visitors are also extremely welcome. Refreshments are served.

The current Featured Item on the History Group website is all about T.C.Lethbridge, born at Knowle House in 1901, who led an extremely varied and interesting life with an eclectic interest in archaeology and the supernatural. This Thursday 15th December will be the last Warm Welcome before Christmas. You are most welcome to come along and join us for hot drinks, mince pies and cake between 10am and 12 noon. There is no charge and we simply look forward to having your company and meeting other villagers. See you there!

Thank you to everyone who supported the Christmas Coffee Morning last Saturday morning which was wonderfully well attended and raised the terrific sum of £705 for church funds. Well done and thank you all!
