If you are interested in Textiles and Craft the Exmoor Textiles Group meets for a creative workshop held on the second Sunday every month 10.00am – 4.00pm throughout the year, at Timberscombe Village Hall. The group has been running since 2017 and goes from strength to strength, currently having 110 members from across Exmoor of mixed abilities from beginners to the experienced but all have a common interest in sewing and making things.
Not every member has to attend all the classes organised; it is your choice and depends on availability of spaces, but more popular classes can be repeated to accommodate everyone. Classes and workshops usually have 10-12 people attending at any one time and are designed and taught by Textiles and Fashion Tutor Gary Mills BA Hons, PGCE. The cost to attend a workshop is priced individually, starting from £35. Most charges include materials unless otherwise indicated.
The types of classes are varied and broadly cover titles such as, Indigo Dye and Shibori, Draw-Stitch & Paint, Eco Dye Weekend, Make your Mark, Mad March Hares & Christmas Count Down.
