GARDEN PARTY AND CREAM TEA at waterside

Unfortunately, due to the unpredictable nature of the weather this year, we decided to move the cream tea to the village hall but we still managed to have a fun afternoon. The hall looked lovely and welcoming with pretty tablecloths and fresh flowers on each table.

It was great to see our regular supporters and many new faces and visitors to the village.

Thank you to all the helpers, those who baked and donated items for the raffles and stalls.

The quiz proved quite a challenge but was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We raised a magnificent total of £920.85 which will boost our church funds and help continue to provide a warm and welcoming church to our community and visitors. We couldn’t have done this without your support in so many ways for which we are all extremely grateful. Well done everybody!

invitation to farewell reception for Rev Caroline Ralph

Our Rector, Caroline Ralph, will be retiring at the end of September after 10 years leading the Benefice of Dunster, Timberscombe, Wootton Courtenay, Withycombe, Rodhuish and Carhampton. On Sunday 24th September at 3pm in St George’s Church, Dunster there will be a Service of Thanksgiving for her, followed by afternoon tea in the Tithe Barn in Dunster. All are welcome to attend and to say their farewells to Caroline. For catering purposes it would be helpful to know who would like to attend by 10th September latest, so please let me know on 841500, or email me on marion@j-mail.org. Likewise, please let me know if you would like to go to the service and tea, and say goodbye, and would like a lift. There is a Benefice-wide collection for Caroline and if you would like to contribute, please just pop an envelope through my door at The Old Mill or hand one over at a service in St Petrock’s where there is also a card for everyone to sign. Thank you.
