Come, bring your flags on the 8th May  as Happy Days are Here Again.  Join Happy Days cast of West End performers and celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This patriotic, uplifting, feel-good show is full of well known songs that you can join in with.

Our Star Theatre Company proudly presents on the 13th their critically acclaimed comedy, Sherlock’s Excellent Adventure! Follow Sherlock Holmes and his incomparable sidekick Dr John Watson on this riveting, until now, unpublished case…Damsel in Distress.

On the 14th May come and experience the wonderful The Dime Notes. They present a fresh take on a timeless style, emphasising the propulsive grooves and sultry melodies which made early jazz revolutionary, controversial, and wildly popular.

The 19th May sees the Royal Ballet perform Swan Lake live and direct from the Royal Opera House. The magic of the lakes, forests and palaces is brought to life with glittering designs by John Macfarlane and a sublime score by Tchaikovsky.

21st May sees The Chance Encounter Project entitled The Journey Goes on. Eleven talented musicians will bring you a Rock ‘n Roll Spectacular with songs from 1954 to 1970. This event is a wonderful opportunity for The Chance Encounter Project to raise valuable funds for an amazing charity, Hope for Tomorrow, and at the same time say a big thank you to the NHS who are always there whenever we need them. Before the concert there will be an introduction from Project President Lord MacLaurin.

The 24th of May sees Pissarro: Father of Impressionism an Exhibit on Screen. Camille Pissarro is rightfully known as the father of Impressionism. With exclusive access to most extensive archive of any Impressionist painter, and to the first major Pissarro retrospective in four decades, this film explores and highlights the enthralling and hugely important biography and output of an incredible artist.

Dunster Road Open ??????

Is the road open or closed???

Having left home early yesterday to follow the diversion around the Dunster road closure I later found out that the road had not been closed as advertised grrrrrrrrrrrrrr !

A local resident who contacted SCC was told that the roadworks were to be carried out overnight on the night of 13th/14th and that the road would otherwise be open. So, if you are reading this on the village email the work MAY be complete.

However, at 7am on 13th April the email below from SSC was sent to the Parish Council. In view of the confusion please allow extra time if going through Dunster, just in case !!

“Please be aware that we have received notification of a date change to a temporary road closure at West Street, Dunster  for approximately 75 metres.

The new date for the works to commence is 11th April 2022  and is expected to last until  14th April 2022 for a total of 4 days.”

Dunster road closed AGAIN !!!
