The Church Commissioners via the Bath and Wells Diocese offered a £500 cost of living grant to help provide extra help during this difficult time. St Petrock’s already run our Warm Space morning on a Thursday between 10am and 12 noon. St Petrock’s was able to secure and pass on this grant to the Orchard Social Club. It has been decided to use this grant to subsidise the Wednesday lunches held at the Old Dairy.
Throughout January, commencing on Wednesday 11th, and hopefully into February, lunch will now be £2 instead of £5. Lunches need to be booked in advance with John before 10am on Tuesday. Please contact John on 01643 841778 or 07815693627.

From this Thursday 5th January, the Warm Welcome resumes in our village church. All are so welcome to join us between 10am – 12 noon every Thursday in school term time. This means every Thursday in January, and Thursday 2nd and Thursday 9th February which will take us up to half term.
We are happy to offer a warm venue, with lots of hot drinks and an assortment of mostly home baked, but some bought cakes and biscuits, good conversation and a great opportunity to meet other people in the village. Some people have brought their crafts and hobbies to work on whilst they are chatting, but that is not a requirement!
Do give this a try and enjoy some community spirit in a beautiful building – it belongs to you!

Christmas Trees.
Rather tan taking your REAL Christmas trees to the recycling centre. Feel free to drop them off at no 2 Ford Cottages in Timberscombe. We have sheep that will happily dispose of them.
Thank you Paul & Tamara

YOGA CLASSES
Yoga is a fantastic activity to support your physical and mental health!
The NHS recommends that adults do at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week, including some activity each day, and that adults 65 and over should include ‘activities that improve strength, balance and flexibility on at least 2 days a week’. https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/exercise-guidelines/physical-activity-guidelines-older-adults/
The Monday morning class at Wootton Courtenay are slow moving, low impact, load bearing sessions that vary each week. We move slowly. We build core strength and balance. We stretch muscles and mobilise joints. We breathe deeply. We relax. And we usually have a giggle!
The Monday evening class at Wheddon Cross is a longer session. We work with stronger postures, so need longer to warm up, and have a longer relaxation at the end. Again, moving slowly, gradually building strength and increasing flexibility. Again, regular giggles included!
Yoga classes are starting again next week on the 9th January:
Wootton Courtenay Mondays 10 – 11am
Wheddon Cross Mondays 7 – 8:30pm
Drop in classes £12. Half term package of 5 weeks: £50
Email me with any questions, or head over to my website for more info and to book your space: https://shiatsuyoga.co.uk/inpersonyoga/
Whether you’re practicing yoga, or something else – remember to keep moving your body! This will keep it healthier and happier for longer!
Happy New Year!
